Learning to solve addition questions by counting through 10's- Isabella's video

This week, Team Earth have been learning how to solve addition questions by counting through 10's. Isabella has created a fantastic 'Explain Everything' clip of how we can use this strategy to solve questions like 18+20. Take a look!

Easter Activity

This week we have had a lot of fun creating 'Hatching Eggs' in relation to Easter this week. We designed our own egg and then added a head, beak, eyes and feathers. Stay tuned for our other activities to come!

Learning to skip-count in 2's, 5's and 10's

Here in Room 6, we have learning about our skip-counting patters in 2's, 5's and 10's. We have found that they are really catchy and heaps of fun to help us remember them!

Room 6's Self-Portrait Art

Over the past two weeks in Room 6, we have been working on our 'All About Me' self-portraits, step-by-step. We are now very excited to share with you a number of our completed masterpieces! Along with our art portrait, we have written a story about ourselves that use a range of describing words. This is something we have been working on in our writing to make it more interesting and engaging for the reader. Please feel free to come in and have a look at the amazing job each child has done with their art and writing! Room 6's Self-Portrait Art on PhotoPeach

Auroa School Drive-In Movie Night

A very exciting event coming up at Auroa School! A drive-in movie night! Here is a sneak peak at what's instore...

Swim Safe

We were very lucky to have Swim Safe come into our school on Tuesday. All the children were able to try on lifejackets. Once we had them on, the children were involved with a range of activities in the water with them on. Above all, we learnt that we must always wear a life-jacket, especially on a boat!

We were very lucky to have Harold the Giraffe come back for our second session this week! We continued learning about, 'Digital Citizenship' and the 'Hot Seat' activity proved to be very engaging for us to learn about this! Last time, Harold was stuck on one plus one and we helped him. This time, some children of Room 6 gave Harold some homework! We don't think Harold wanted to do homework, he ended up eating it! We had heaps of fun though, so thank you Harold!
